Boat will not sink if it is slided on water and this is how new built boats are put into water . But the building material and design has to be considered whether it will sink or float . Also, while sliding big boats they try to avoid much water splash into the boat which will unnecessarily cause burden for them.

For any object to float or sink is dependent on the physical laws of the universe we exist in. I see from your profile you are only 9 years old with an interest in how things work. The starting point for you would be to learn about the mechanical laws regarding such things. When I was staring out with an interest in engineering this beginners knowledge came from books and science classes at school, though not much would come from schoolwork at 9 years old. The new tool now available to us now, a way we can learn this basic knowledge is youtube video. If you do a search basic engineering mechanics tutorials you will find some
