Solidworks Modules
This is a short tutorial on different available modules in Solidworks and the difference between them.
-
Step 1: Modules
The first thing we have to select in Solidworks is the type of module we want to use. So, it is critical to understand the difference between the available modules.
What are these modules? Honestly, I can say that those are different things we can do using Solidworks.
What are these different things?
you can see them by yourself when you click "NEW" If you cannot find them refer to the below picture.
Modules:
- PART
- ASSEMBLY
- DRAWING

Step 2: Part Module
PART MODULE:
In this module, we can only create the 3D shapes need for our assembly. For example, I created a base in which I can mount my INTEL cameras. To check if it works or not I have to use my assembly module.

Step 3: Assembly Module
ASSEMBLY MODULE:
In this, we can assemble all the parts we created in the part module to see if everything fits together. If it works well then all good or we can go back to our part and make changes to it accordingly. Going back to my example. Looks good to me. So, I will go and produce a drawing file to manufacture it.

Step 4: Drawing
DRAWING:
This is one of the important modules. WHY? If you want to bring your product to life we need to produce some cool drawings to assist the manufacturing team. The drawing file looks something like the following but, will everything be dimensioned.
